Target group
The training is adapted to personnel who are included in the total emergency first aid and includes the following:
- Members of first aid teams on permanent and floating installations
- First aiders and MOB crews on emergency vessels
Content
Basic course in first aid is an essential course that provides a good basis for being able to perform life-saving first aid in the event of serious injury in an accident, during illness or during an emergency. In the course you also learn how to assist the nurse in treating patients.
The course provides a thorough basic training in relevant first aid topics
with a clear emphasis on practicing practical skills such as:
- Emergency preparedness and organisation
- Airways & breating
- Circulation, disability and expose
- Head and spinal injuries
- Illness
- Measuring blood pressure, puls and giving infusions
- CPR with use of difibrilator
- First aid treatment in practise
- Triage
- Mental reactions
After this safety training
Refreshed and upgraded their knowledge, proficiency and attitude regarding their emergency function.
Prerequisite skills
First aid basic course or medical first aid according to STCW table A-VI/4-1
Duration
2 days
Assessment criteria
The participants will be assessed during all practical training.
If the participant does not pass the practical training, the participant will receive justification.
After completing the training, the following must be completed:
- practical check out basic first aid (ABC) included in case of drowning
- convenient DHLR check-out (using a semi-automatic defibrillator)
- carry out a theoretical test
If the participant is considered not to meet the competence goals, the participant will not be certified.
Certificate
The course certificate is valid for 2 years and must be repeated every 2 years after the examination on offshore service vessels.
The refresher course can also be taken annually on board.

Courses are offered in our locations in Stavanger, Bergen, Haugesund, Kristiansund and Grimstad.

Payment for the course is made when signing up for the course or at the location of your choice. We also offer payments via Vipps or invoice.
Attendance
All our courses start at 10.00 on the first day of the course unless otherwise is stated in the course confirmation. The remaining days course starts at 08.30.
Remember to bring a valid ID.
Clothing
All course participants must bring woolen underwear or underwear that is not synthetic.
Lunch
Lunch is included in the course price and is served every day.
Remember to notify any allergies in advance.
