Cat B training (EBS-B)

Target group

Helicopter evacuation is a part of the basic safety and emergency preparedness courses. This module is offered to persons that need a CA-EBS to EBS conversion

Content

The course is based on Offshore Norge’s guidelines, and contain the following:

Helicopter evacuation with EBS
 

Practical exercises:

· Introduction to the use of EBS

· Water familiarization exercises

· Helicopter underwater evacuation training

Learning objectives

· Participants will have knowledge about emergency landings and survival at sea

· Participants will be able to evacuate from a sinking helicopter

· Participants will be able to use the survival suit and the emergency breathing system
 

Prerequisites

None
 

Assessment Criteria

The course participant will be assessed during all practical training. If the participant doesn’t pass the practical training, they shall be given an explanation.

Helicopter evacuation exercises are mandatory and must be completed to receive the course certificate.

The course certificate is valid for 4 years

Clothing All participants must bring their own woolen underwear or other non-synthetic underwear for use during practical exercises
