Target group
Helicopter evacuation is part of the GSK Basic Safety course.
This module is offered as a separate course for those who only need the helicopter evacuation part of the course.
The course is for anyone going offshore in a helicopter.
Content
Theory part
Practical exercises:
- Water habituation
- Overturn drills
- Organized evacuation
- EBS (air pocket)
After completing this safety training
- Participants have learned about emergency landing and survival at sea
- Participants are able to get out of a sinking helicopter
- Participants are able to use a rescue suits with an integrated air pockets

Duration
Classrom + practical: 1 day
E-learning + practical: half day e-learning + half day on training facilities
Assessment criteria
The participants will be assessed during all practical training.
After completing the training, the participans will have to complete a theoretical test.
Certificate
The course certificate must be repeated every 4 years after the examination.
The course certificate must be repeated every 5 years after the examination for personell certified pursuant to the STCW convention for mobile facilities.

Courses are offered in our locations in Stavanger, Bergen, Haugesund, Kristiansund and Grimstad.

Payment for the course is made when signing up for the course or at the location of your choice. We also offer payments via Vipps or invoice.
Attendance
All our courses usually start at 10:00 on the first course day unless otherwise stated in the course confirmation. On the remaining days, attendance is at 08:30.
Make sure to check the course confirmation, since this can change occasionally.
Remember to bring valid identification.
Clothing
All course participants must bring woolen underwear or underwear that is not synthetic.
Lunch
Lunch is included in the course price and is served every day.
Remember to notify any allergies in advance.
