Target Group

Personnel who are part of, or are to assume roles within, the organization’s emergency response management offshore and onshore, for example the following key personnel:

  • Emergency Response Manager
  • Log keeper, Action Manager or Evaluation Manager
  • On‑scene Incident Commander
  • Nurse
  • Control Room Operator
  • Air and maritime operators
  • Radio operator
  • Officers on emergency response vessels

Our experienced instructors have extensive industry experience and create a safe learning environment during practical exercises.

If there are any special considerations we should be aware of, please inform us in advance so that we can take extra good care of you when you arrive at the training center.

Content

Lectures and simulation / practical tasks and exercises covering:

  • Proactive leadership
  • Emergency response organization, emergency plans and resources
  • Risk assessment and emergency preparedness analysis
  • The Emergency Preparedness Regulations
  • Initial meeting board, focus and action board, log board and situation plotting board
  • Leadership and decision‑making processes
  • Human reactions in crisis situations / mental reactions and stress management
  • The role of the authorities
  • The Norwegian rescue services
  • Cooperation between the incident site and the emergency response center
  • Cooperation between onshore, offshore organizations and external parties
  • Communication and decision‑making training
  • Tabletop exercises

Upon Completion of the Course

Norwegian Oil and Gas:

In accordance with the guidelines for course OER109, upon completion of the course the participant shall be able to take part in the emergency response management within their own organization and have an understanding of emergency preparedness in the petroleum industry.

Prerequisites

  • Basic safety training
  • It is advantageous that each participant is familiar with the structure of their own emergency response organization

Assessment Criteria

Participants will be assessed throughout all practical training. If a participant does not pass the practical training, a justification will be provided.

After completion of the training, the participant must complete a theoretical test. If the participant is assessed as not meeting the competence objectives, they will be failed.

Course Location

The course is offered at our locations in Stavanger, Bergen, Haugesund, Kristiansund and Grimstad.

Preferred date and location can be selected from the course list.

Payment Options

Payment for the course is made upon registration or on arrival. We also offer payment via Vipps or invoice.

Attendance

All our courses usually start at 10:00 on the first course day unless otherwise stated in the course confirmation. On the remaining days, attendance is at 08:30.

Make sure to check the course confirmation, since this can change occasionally.
