Small MOB Boat Refresher Course w/night operation (Norwegian)

Target Group

Crew members on fixed or floating offshore installations who are assigned to man a MOB boat in accordance with the guidelines issued by Offshore Norge.

Course Content

• Organisation, operations, and task allocation
• Regulatory and industry requirements
• MOB boat technical systems
• Boat handling and manoeuvring
• Hook arrangements – launching and recovery
• Navigation and compass use
• Communications
• Search and rescue
• First aid

Upon Completion

After completing the course, participants shall be able to:

• Launch, recover, and operate the MOB boat and associated equipment in a safe and satisfactory manner
• Apply the most common search methods
• Recover a casualty from the sea and provide life‑saving first aid

Prerequisites

MOB boat basic course or high‑speed MOB boat training in accordance with STCW Table A‑VI/2‑2.
Personnel who have not served in an emergency response role and have not completed emergency response training or equivalent training/exercises within the last 5 years must complete a new basic course.

Assessment Criteria

Participants are assessed throughout all practical training. If a participant does not pass the practical training, a justification will be provided.

After completion of the training, participants must pass a theoretical test. Failure to meet the competence requirements will result in a failed assessment.

The course certificate is valid for 2 years.

The course is offered at our training centres in:

• Stavanger
• Bergen
• Haugesund
• Kristiansund
• Grimstad

Preferred date and location can be selected from the course list.

Payment Options

Payment is made upon registration or upon arrival.
Payment via Vipps or invoice is also available.

Attendance

Courses normally start at 10:00 on the first day unless otherwise stated in the course confirmation.
On subsequent days, attendance starts at 08:30.

Clothing Requirements

All participants must bring wool underwear or other non‑synthetic base layers.
