On-scene commander refresher course (Norwegian)

Our Instructors

Our experienced instructors have extensive industry experience and create a safe and confidence‑building learning environment during practical exercises.

Course Content

The course focuses on the core responsibilities of the Incident Site Manager, with emphasis on collaboration between the Incident Site Manager, response teams, and local emergency management.

The course primarily consists of:

• Leadership and decision‑making in emergency situations
• Situation assessment with focus on response prioritisation
• Allocation of own resources and issuing of orders
• Incident site management and coordination
• Communication systems and procedures
• Situation reports
• Stress and crisis management
• Securing and normalisation of the incident site
• Practical exercises followed by debrief

The course can be customised to suit the individual client, organisation, or installation. Participants will train against an exercise control team and/or actual response teams. Exercises are based on standardised scenarios or company‑specific defined hazards and accident situations (DFU).

Upon Completion of the Course

Participants will refresh existing knowledge and further develop their skills in leading and coordinating available resources at an incident site during an emergency situation (company‑specific context).

Prerequisites

• Familiarity with the structure of the participant’s own emergency preparedness organisation is advantageous
• Incident Site Management course (basic level)

Assessment Criteria

Participants are assessed throughout all practical training. If a participant does not pass the practical training, a justification will be provided.

Following completion of the training, participants must pass a theoretical test. Participants who do not meet the required competence standards will not be certified.

• 1 day
• 2 days available upon request for groups

Course Validity

The course certificate is valid for 2 years.

Course Location

The course is offered at our locations in Stavanger, Bergen, Haugesund, Kristiansund, and Grimstad.

Preferred date and location can be selected from the course list.

Payment is made upon registration or on arrival.
We also offer payment via Vipps or invoice.

Attendance

All courses normally start at 10:00 on the first course day, unless otherwise stated in the course confirmation.
On subsequent days, attendance is at 08:30.

Clothing

All participants must bring wool underwear or non‑synthetic base layers.

Lunch is included in the course fee and is served every day.
