Fitness test

Target Group

This course is intended for emergency response personnel with smoke diver (firefighter) duties who are required to have the physical fitness necessary to perform smoke diving operations. Fitness must be documented through a successfully completed physical fitness test.

Course Content

• Fitness testing primarily conducted on treadmills
• Walking at a 12% incline carrying a 17 kg load
• Cooper test – jogging on a treadmill at a speed of 10.5 km/h
• Medical fitness certificate for smoke divers can be obtained from a petroleum physician, maritime doctor, or, in most cases, from occupational health clinics

Physical fitness tests must be completed every second year and are valid for 24 months from the date of the last passed test.
