E-learning
The e-learning replaces one day of theory at the course center, which means that it is a comprehensive e-learning module that requires enough time to complete. A link, username, and password will be sent to you separately in a separate email no earlier than 3 weeks before the course starts. You must have completed the theoretical parts online (e-learning) before attending the course.
Target group
· Emergency situations and evacuation
· Survival crafts and rescue boats
· Personal rescue means and techniques
· Fire prevention theory
· Use of smoke diving equipment when firefighting
· First aid
Learning objectives
On completion of the course the participant will be able to demonstrate competence according to STCW tables A-VI/1-1, 1-2, 1-3 and 1-4.
STCW basic safety training for seafarers course or refresher course of the same course.
Valid certificate must be issued according to STCW-1978-convention rule VI/I and corresponding tables.
Assessment criteria
To pass the course you must have 80% correct answers on the written exam.
In addition, all requirements for the practical exercises must be met.
The participant will be observed by an instructor during practical exercises. The instructor shall make sure that the participants have the minimum
required knowledge, understanding and competence through observation and judgement of the practical exercises.
Duration 1 day at the center, approximately 1/2 day e-learning
Certificate validity
The certificate is valid for 5 years
Clothing
All participants must bring their own woolen underwear or other non-synthetic underwear for use during practical exercises.
Flexibility on language:
We always aim to be flexible with our customers, you can find the courses in English by checking the schedule for English flags, if you want to take the e-learning in English but you have a good enough Norwegian language to join the Norwegian course, feel free to contact us and we will arrange with e-learning in English for you. You can book a course in Norwegian and send us a message, and then we will set you up with the English version of the course. Just send us a message after booking.
